VETERANS CARE

At Care Solutions IHS, our mission is to provide compassionate, dependable support that honors each Veteran’s service — empowering them to live with comfort, dignity, and independence through our two dedicated Veteran care programs: the VA Pension with Aid & Attendance and the VA Homemaker & Home Health Aide Services Program.

What We Do

Our caregivers provide hands-on support tailored to each Veteran’s assessed needs. Services may include:

  • Assistance with eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

  • Light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry or other household tasks if needed.

  • Assistance with errands and shopping for groceries and other essential household items.

  • Companion services for safety, supervision and social engagement.

  • Medication reminders and assistance with handling the pill box.

Why It Matters

Home care is especially valuable for Veterans who:

  • Need assistance with daily living tasks — whether temporarily or long-term.

  • Want to maintain their independence and dignity by living safely at home.

  • Could benefit from added companionship, support, and relief if their family caregiver is overwhelmed.

  • Prefer in-home care instead of entering a nursing home or institutional facility.

VA Homemaker & Home Health Aide Services

We proudly partner with Veteran Affairs to deliver the Homemaker and Home Health Aide program — a service committed to helping eligible Veterans stay safe and independent in their own homes. Under this program, a trained aide comes directly to your home to assist with everyday personal care and daily living activities, enabling Veterans to remain in the familiar surroundings they call home rather than moving into a facility.

Who’s Eligible

Any Veteran enrolled in VA health care who meets the clinical criteria for these services may qualify. Eligibility depends on the need for personal care and/or assistance with activities of daily living, not age.

VA Pension with Aid & Attendance

We are proud to partner with organizations that help Veterans and their families understand and apply for the VA Pension with Aid & Attendance benefit. This program can make dependable, quality in-home care more affordable for those who need daily support.

This benefit provides monthly financial assistance to eligible Veterans and surviving spouses who require help with everyday activities of daily living or who are substantially confined to their home due to disability. These funds may be used to offset the cost of home care services.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

While final determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, applicants generally must meet all of the following categories:

1. Service Requirements

  • Veteran served at least 90 days of active duty, with at least one day during a wartime period

  • Discharge status of honorable or general (under honorable)

2. Medical Need

  • Requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, or mobility

  • OR is housebound due to disability

  • OR resides in an assisted living or nursing facility due to physical or cognitive limitations

3. Financial Qualifications

  • Meets income and net-worth limits established by the VA

  • Medical and care expenses may be used to help offset countable income

  • The care recipient is not currently receiving VA compensation that outweighs the pension benefit.

4. Surviving Spouses

  • Must have been married to the Veteran at the time of the Veteran’s death and not remarried (with limited exceptions)

Because each situation is unique, a personalized eligibility review is strongly recommended. Our agency and our benefit-guidance partners are available to help families understand options and take the next steps with confidence.
